It’s a long story—but I will try to make it short as possible. It all started with our youngest son. Our love for our Caracal's was undeniable but they do not make the best house pets for most family or little boys to keep in their bed room. lol 

Like many families, our children’s passions have shaped parts of our journey in unexpected ways. What began as his fascination with the breathtaking European Maine Coon—their majestic look, larger size, and unforgettable wild expression—quickly became something our whole family fell in love with.

As a family, we have always believed that pets are more than just animals—they become part of the family. What started as one child’s dream turned into a shared passion, a lifestyle, and ultimately the foundation of Palmetto State Cattery. Today, our entire family plays a role in raising these incredible cats with love, hands-on care, and the kind of socialization that only comes from being truly raised as part of a family.

Looking back, what seemed like a simple wish from our youngest son became one of the greatest blessings in our family’s story.
